| HRD in Tourism Tourism is a personalized service industry and is transterritorial and
global in nature. The norms of classification of hotels, resorts and restaurants, the most
important segment of Tourism Industry, are fixed in keeping with the international norms.
HRD standards in Tourism Industry are to be adhered to very strictly. This industry needs
professionally qualified and trained personnel at all levels. To cater to the needs West
Bengal offers two Government Institutes :-

Admission
procedure for 3-Year Diploma
An All India Entrance Examination is held
for admission to 3-Year Diploma Course in Hotel Management. Regarding this an
advertisement is published in the month of December/January in all leading dailies.
According to the format given in the
advertisement are required to filled up properly and send it to National Council, New
Delhi along with Demand Draft of requisite amount.
All India Entrance Examination is
generally held in the month of April.
Candidates qualified in the Written test
will be called for an interview tentatively held in the month of June. The session starts
from August.
