General Rules and Regulations

  1. Booking closes 63 days in advance in case of tours by Train/Air/Ship, and in case of tours by Bus/Bus-Cum-Launch, booking will be closed 03 days before the journey.
  2. Maturity of any tour depends upon optimum participation of tourists.
  3. 50% of Package amount is to be deposited at the time of booking and balance to be paid 15 days before the date of journey.
  4. The Package rate includes charges for transport, sight seeing, accommodation and food. No food will be catered during journey by Train/Ship/Air, in some of the packages.
  5. The rate indicated for child (Above 3 years but less than 12 years) means the accommodation is to be shared with parents without any extra bed.
  6. If there is any increase in Railway/Bus/Air/Ship fares, the difference of the fare is to be borne by the tourists.
  7. Place of commencement of the tour would be as per tour programme and if there is any change, the tourists would be communicated of such changes before the date of commencement of the tour.
  8. The tourists should contact the Tourism Centre 7 days before in case of inter-state tours and 2 days before in case of short distance tours.
  9. WBTDC will not undertake any liability towards any loss, damage of life, property or any other belongings whatsoever of the tourists in course of the tour.
  10. Accompanying luggage should be light and essential items like medicines/umbrella/torch etc. are to be carried by the tourists. No porter assistance is to be provided. In case of any medical problem during the tour, all expenses are to be borne by the tourists.
  11. In case of cancellation of any kind of transport related to the tour WBTDC will not undertake any financial liabilities/responsibilities for this. However, the Tour Conducting Officer will help to board the next train in unreserved compartments or to procure Ship/Air tickets for the next voyage/flight.
  12. Sick, disabled persons with contagious diseases would not be allowed in the tour.
  13. WBTDC reserves the right to cancel or alter any trip or programme or timing thereof without assigning any reason whatsoever.
  14. Allotment of seats/rooms would be according to the discretion to the Tour Conducting Officer.
  15. The Tour Conducting Officer’s decision on any matter/dispute will be final.
  16. Cooli, porter, pilgrim tax, temple entry fees, local conveyance, camera charges, boating, pony/dandy charges etc. are to be paid by the tourist.
  17. The tour will be operated subject to operational conditions.
  18. Tickets are not transferable.
  19. There will be no refund for any unforeseen calamities which may occur during the tour.
  20. If a person travels as a single person, he/she will be accommodated with other persons during night halts.
  21. 3 adults in a family will be accommodated in 1 double room by providing only extra bed even though the third person is in possession of a double room ticket.
  22. All tours of WBTDC are covered under LTC facilities for State/Central Govt. employees.
  23. Itinerary is subject to change without notice.
  24. For infants (below 03 years) 10% of the Package rate is to be paid.

Cancellation Rules for Long Distance/Short Distance Tours

4. 80% before 3 (three) days.
5. No refund on or within 3 (three) days including the day of journey.
6. No refund for cancellation after the tour starts.

Remarks

The above mentioned days include the date of journey.

Only one postponement/preponement after deducting applicable cancellation charges towards room rent/railway/would be considered if request is made 7 days prior to the journey.

No cancellation would be considered for Sunderbans package Tours.

Special Discounts

A Concession of 05% would be allowed to senior citizens on the total package rate.

Group Discounts

A concession of 05% would be allowed for long and short distance tours for group of 10 heads.
A concession of 10% may also be allowed for Sunderbans tours for a group of 20 heads.
