Getting There
AIR: The nearest airport Bagdogra, is
90 km from Darjeeling. Connected by regular direct flights with Kolkata and Delhi.
Darjeeling bound tourists disembarking at Bagdogra may avail of the D.G.H.C.
Tourism’s tourist coach, tourist taxi or private taxi to the city.
RAIL: Darjeeling is connected with
Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. Two closest railway stations are Shiliguri (80 km)
and New Jalpaiguri (88 km) from Darjeeling. Toy train run by the Darjeeling Himalayan
Railway helps connect Darjeeling from Shiliguri by a few hours journey. Jeeps and taxis
too are available.
ROAD: By road Darjeeling is 665 km
from Kolkata. Regular bus service connects Kolkata and Shiliguri, from where Darjeeling is
80 km. Bus and jeep ply on this road. Delhi and Mumbai connect Darjeeling through
Shiliguri by direct regular bus services.
